Job description


To strengthen our team in the Procurement and Engineering Department for Africa we are looking for a Tender/Project Engineer.

As a Tender/Project Engineer you are part of an International Tender Team and you report to the Tender Manager.

After an introduction period you will be responsible for the entire tender process of one or more large, multidisciplinary and complex projects in the water industry. You are responsible for the design, the internal communication and the contract management.

In short, you monitor all parameters of the tender process in terms of time, budget, quality, organization, scope, opportunities and risks.

Your assignments:

  • You map out the complete tender (the requirements and specifications of the applicant) and you analyze the technical feasibility. Thanks to your ability to think critically, you also take into account the contractual aspects.
  • You work out a thorough and detailed case study per project. You look at different execution modalities to obtain the best possible tender and technical solution. After an internal consultation you are responsible for the correct preparation of the tender.
    • You actively participate in meetings and site visits.
    • You consult all the internal parties, the client, the project team, …
    • You analyze the potential suppliers or subcontractors and report you report about it to your head of department.
    • You ensure a correct preparation of the tender, in terms of the price, the planning and documentation (administratively, technically and commercially)
  • You follow the entire tender and contract process and you adjust where necessary.

In time, and if it’s your ambition, you will supervise one or more tender teams or you will become responsible for the on site work preparation or execution of international projects granted to Denys.


Profile
  • You have a Master’s degree in Engineering (civil, water, agriculture,…) or a Master’s degree in Industrial Sciences.
  • You have 4-5 years of experience within water works or pipelines.
  • You are a very organized person and you are committed to working in a planned and accurate manner.
  • You are able to combinate your conceptual thinking with your creativity and ‘out of the box’ thinking. You also reflect spontaneously on the feasibility of your ideas.
  • You speak and write fluently English. Knowledge of Dutch, French or other languages is an asset.
  • You’re based in Europe and have the ability to travel to Africa and Europe when needed (on average about 6 times a year).
