We are looking to recruit two experienced Internal Audit and Investigation officers to join our small Internal Audit and Investigations team.
The role predominately deals with carrying out Internal Audit’s. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have experience of working in Internal Audit, preferably in a local government environment. The position is varied as it involves undertaking a diverse range of audits across the Council from initiation to conclusion and agreement with Senior Management. You will also play a key role in undertaking a variety of corporate fraud investigations across the Council to prevent and detect fraud to ensure the safeguarding of the public purse.
Candidates should possess strong communication skills and be able to clearly set out and explain the audit viewpoint to auditees. The role also requires strong time management and work prioritisation skills, so you can manage your own workload effectively to meet the required deadlines. You should also possess the ability to think through issues logically, use your initiative and see things from the wider organisational view.
Ideally candidates would also possess a technical knowledge of carrying out investigations to a standard permissible at court.
We operate a hybrid working approach, working remotely at home and within the Council Offices.
